[UbuntuWomen] IRC meeting with Jono and IRC bot

Thanks to all those who attended the meeting yesterday in
#ubuntu-women with  Jono Bacon. Basically it was a continuation of
last week's meeting on issues women face while volunteering in Foss.

----- IRC bot for UW channel ------
While on the subject, I would like to have feedback about keeping a
bot on the UW channel permanently.  Currently the admins have to post
them to the wiki for each
meeting. This extra work can be avoided as almost all Ubuntu channels have bots.

Advantages :
* Folks who are not logged 24/7 but want to catch-up can read that
days archived log.
* The bot can be used to answer newbie questions which are repeatedly
asked over a period of time.
* It increases and encourages openness and transparency in UW.

Disadvantages :
The only downside, I have heard, is that logged channels prevent women
from  speaking openly about issues. Do you think so ? IMHO, people can
maintain private archives so what is the benefit of not logging the UW
channel as we loose the goodness mentioned above !!
