¿Cuál es el error que te da?
En tu menu.lst veo que no veo que le pases el disco correcto al kernel, dice:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-6-k7 root=/dev/sdb1 ro
pero debería ser así (no estoy del todo seguro):
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-6-k7 root=/dev/sdc1 ro
mira que pongo /dev/sdc1 mientras que tu tienes /dev/sdb1; el que tu tienes corresponde a la partición del disco de datos, no a la del disco del sistema que es el externo.
Creo que debería quedar algo como:
