*Discussion*
- We had some installation dependancy problems that were solved by
nuclearbob last week (ask him for the gory details if you were suffering
from such problem).
- We've been working on the training that we will be doing at UDS.
- Working on making the image downloading more transparent so that we
can set up generic works in jenkins without having to worry about which
is the latest image.
- Phoenix script is there to add test cases to an existing test suite or
create a test suite from scratch. To be added to the training, so that
people have this aid. It has been discussed that we may add it to
quickly so that it is available more widely.
- We found a regression that has been introduced over the past two
weeks, that makes utah VMs to hang, tracking the issue with bug 1061242:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1061242
- We discussed about the need to add more information to the logs, such
as which version of utah server/client was used to run the tests, and
all sorts of details regarding the test environment. Also, the test case
description and metadata has also been added to the log for traceability
reasons. We will be working on adding the version control id as well, so
that when something fails, it is easy to know exactly which version of
the tests was run.
- The run_as functionality has been discussed because of security
concerns. On one hand, utah should be able to run tests as any chosen
user, on the other hand, we don't want to introduce a security threat
for everyone that installs the utah client on their development
machines. Still discussing pros and cons of each of the options we have.
This not of immediate concern, because we are not yet at a place where
we start testing users privileges, but we will eventually be there and
want to have an answer for it. Being able to do reboot test cases also
requires root privileges, but we will explain very clearly that during
the training.
Any opinions on what information may be useful in the final log and
run_as functionality would be appreciated and taken into account!
Cheers,
Gema
