Hello, thanks, but I don't need those distros. I've gone deeply into most of those distros. I've been able to enable kvm and to virtualize freebsd on a lot of linux distro. It works and now I'm trying to take a further step. I want to use libvirt and virt-manager instead of using the qemu parameters directly. To do this,I need to find the correct linux distro. I tried devuan, debian and now ubuntu. Ubuntu seems to be good. But 18.04 is old. To recompile libvirt I need a newer version of meson. Sure,I can compile meson from scratch on 18.04 and probably I will do this later, but now I'm trying to upgrade 18.04 to 20.04 because I think that 20.04 is the appropriate linux distro for achieving my goal. Unfortunately,as you can see,the upgrade from 18 to 20 didn't go well. I've sent an email to the ubuntu ML to get some help to understand what went wrong. Did you read the log that I've attached ?

On Thu, Sep 7, 2023 at 6:17 PM Liam Proven <lproven@gmail.com> wrote:

On Thu, 7 Sept 2023 at 14:15, Mario Marietto <marietto2008@gmail.com> wrote:
Not at all. Here is a web page that lists over 30 of them from at
least 6 manufacturers:

https://www.linuxmadesimple.info/2019/08/all-chromebooks-with-arm-processors-in.html

It claims to be current but the date in the URL makes that look like a lie.
Oh my. That is very old, over a decade old now.

There was ChrBuntu but it's long gone.

http://chromeos-cr48.blogspot.com/2012/10/arm-chrubuntu-1204-alpha-1-now.html

There was an old version of Kali for that machine in 2019.

If you can find it that might still work.

Allegedly Arch supports it:

You might be better off replacing ChromeOS and using Crouton:
