In fact, that may be part of the problem - I've had hardware just stop working after a kernel update while on the HWE kernel, and while I didn't try switching to the standard kernel (didn't know about it at the time), I bet it would have fixed the problem. </pre> </blockquote> I thank everyone for their input. As I mentioned in a previous post, to the best of my knowledge I am running the currently released default kernel from updates/main or security/main repository. Unless there's something I don't understand, I have not done anything to install a non-default kernel.
