<div dir="ltr">The D-Link TWA-582 card I bought is low profile and comes with a low-profile slot piece. Of course, I have a large server case, but this one really couldn't be any more desktop Low Profile if you ask me. I still think the non-dongle version is would be way more stable, and the new cards aren't as RF picky as older ones. My house (we call it the FurherBunker) is brick, cinder-block and plaster. <div dir="ltr">Why use a dongle on a desktop system? Personally, I'd scour the couch cushions to get a PCI-Express Wifi card. It'll work better than a dongle. I just built a new desktop and the D-Link card I have just flies in Windows and Linux (mine's Fedora,
but I think that's not particularly relevant).
