It's not me having the problem, this was my reply to the
post.<br>
BTW I have never been able to boot into recovery mode.
Even using the disk I installed with. Is there a trick to
it that I don't know about?<span class=""><br>

sudo chown R username:username .* *<br>
</span> use the . before the * so it will pick up hidden files.<br>
reboot and see if it works.<br>
