<div dir="ltr"><div><div>I've been having the same problem but thought it was just a quirk on my system.  <br>Started after I upgraded to 14.04 LTS<br></div>When there are updates available the 'Software Updater' icon turns green.  If the system has been on for more than circa 24 hours left clicking on the icon does nothing, right clicking brings up the pop out menu.<br></div>Selecting the 'Install updates' option does nothing.  It requires a complete system reboot to get the updater to function correctly and all updates appear to install correctly when the button is pushed after the re-boot.  After the system has been up for circa 24 hours the symptoms repeat. <br></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr"><p>- - - - -</p><p style="margin:0px;text-indent:0px">-"God is not fooled." - Eric Metaxa</p><p style="margin:0px;text-indent:0px">"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." John F. Kennedy<br></p><p style="margin:0px;text-indent:0px">"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for

Since I upgraded to 14.04.1, when there is an update, it shows the update icon, but<br>
when I click on it nothing happens. I have to right click, the install updates. The problem<br>
is that I can not see what it getting updated. Any ideas?<span class="HOEnZb"><font color="#888888"><br>
