Now I get a boot menu with ubuntu but it will not load. Error message reads<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">windows failed to start .... efit/ubuntu/shimx64.efi<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">the application or operating system being loaded is missing a file.<br><br><br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">I also enabled legacy support in bios , that did not help. I disabled legacy again, did not help.<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">I can run windows just fine through the boot loader so I have not totally screwed things up.<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">As an alternative I would wipe windows and just use Ubuntu.
