<div class=" hide-outline">Linux apps use a specific toolkit (QT is a toolkit, GTK, etc). Window managers really don’t have much to do with apps. If you run a QT application under GTK (for instance, a KDE app in GNOME), they should run the same way they do in KDE, but they make look strange, or the theme may be broken, unless the app is dependent on an app in KDE. For instance, if you were to run a KDE app that permanently removes the taskbar in KDE (although there are none that will do that), the app will not work in GNOME, since the KDE taskbar is not there in GNOME, and therefore, the KDE app will not see it, and will not work.
