Thanks for the help, I don't know if I'm getting anywere but here's what I've learned so far. It still freezes in just regular ubuntu, classic, classic with no effects, safe mode,Now I'm in recovery, then I've chose x ,I think, which is just using Ubutu11.04 I believe but coming through the recovery mode instead, so far no freezes, it's only been an hour or so. In recovery mode I usually pick failsafe graphics and I get a sign saying I'm in low graphic mode and then it goes into 11.04 without unity and that hasn't frozen yet. I thought in 10.10 that it was my nvidia 6600gt and I only could use the nouveau drivers and in reading, this was typical for nouveau(couldn't change drivers, noveau always came back) But in 11.04 I have control over drivers and I've used 270.41.06 and 73 drivers they still freeze. So were in the hell am I?</blockquote>
<div><br></div><div>So we can fairly say it's a graphic issue.</div><div><br></div><div>When you are in recovery mode, in failsafe, you can install the nvidia-current driver. I've heard the 173 driver to be buggy. Hopefully it will be solved.</div>
<div>Can't help you much there as I don't have an nVidia 6600gt myself.</div></div></div>
