Google shows this could be a problem on Ubuntu 9.10. Are you using<br>
9.10? If so have you made sure the system is up to date? If so then<br>
it might be worth looking through<br>

I have tried to control a Nikon D40 using the gphoto2 application as<br>

Gphoto2 says Error-6, the camera doesn't support the capture function.<br>
