All though WICD seems to be working ok, except for the fact that I have to start it each time I bootup the system... </pre> </blockquote> <pre wrap=""> Hmm, maybe I should have mentioned that you can easily use the wicd package from the Ubuntu repositories, i.e. without adding software sources or the gpg key. Anyway, if you start wicd the first time you should get an icon in the panel and that icon should be there after a reboot as well. If you click on the icon you should get the wicd configuration window. And if you have checked the option to automatically connect to your network, you should get the network connection even without opening the wicd window. Maybe you just didn't notice the wicd icon in the panel? Nils </pre> </blockquote> Hello Nils, Well I guess that I should have also mentioned that I did infact install it using synaptic...The icon is showing up on the top panel, yet it does not connect automatically, so what I do is click on the icon, then it does a scan, once it shows the ESSID I use the connect, it then does connect just fine...So all in all I suppose it is working fine, just was wondering if it can start up automatically at boot time, maybe not...
