Is "Firefix" a typo? Did you mean Firefox? What version? I see no icons
as you describe on my FF 3.6.6.

I am guessing he has the Firefox Wallpaper Rotator add-on installed.
Larry, you might like to disable that if I am right and you do not
want it. In FF select Tools, Add-ons. Click on Extensions, select the
wallpaper rotator if it is there and click disable or uninstall.
