"regular" Ubuntu will use unnecessary space with packages you do not
need for a server application</li><li>You need to install separately things like Samba, and a lot of other things that will be "naturally" present in a server version</li><li>But basically there is nu difference between a "regular" Ubuntu and a server version, from a technical point view</li>
