<DIV><BR>Help. I am new to Ununtu. I have salvaged a Dell 2200 that was going to the dump w/o a hard drive or power supply. Have replaced both at minimal cost but had no Windows operating system to install. So decided to try ubuntu. After an abortive experience with downloaded disc over the internet, I got a copy sent in the mail that installed fine. All seems well but for some questions.</DIV>

<DIV>1. I would like to be able to access the internet with through my router using my Trendnet wireless USB 2.0 adapter. However, the installation disc for the adapter gives no information about how to install on ubuntu. When I look on their website they say it will not work with ununtu. Does anyone have a "workaround" or can anyone suggest another low cost usb adapter?</DIV>

<DIV>2. I now wonder whether any of my peripherals (printer, scanner, FAX) will be compatible with ubuntu. Do I need special drivers, and if so , how do I get them?</DIV>

<DIV>For your information : I have been a user of computers, not a tech person, for more than 50 years (I am 75).. In the last couple of years I have amused myself by salvaging laptop computers to give to kids. This is my first experience with anything besides a Windows system. </DIV>

<DIV>Thanks for any advice. drbobc </DIV></BODY></html>
