I want to configure my machine so it will not perform updates
automatically, instead, I want to be able to download the updates
manually and install them manually.
How can I do that?
I am in Lucid with my 2 computers and on both I open a terminal and
first enter:

$ sudo aptitude update

When that finishes use:

$ sudo aptitude upgrade

That is a complete manual download of the updates.
