Yes you are right and sorry for expressing myself very badly. If you install the repos "ubuntu-restricted-extras" it will indeed work. But I choose not to do it and therefore can't access video using shockwave. <br>

</div></div>I'm on x86-64 and Shockwave works fine. Have you installed the<br>
"ubuntu-restricted-extras" package? I also recommend the basic set of<br>
codecs etc. from Medibuntu as well. Just follow the instructions on<br>
