If upon running the live CD your mouse is not "grabbing", then you can safely assume that this is NOT a hardware issue. This has to be a configuration issue. Have you tried to re-configure the mouse?<BR>

I assumed a flaw in the hard drive in my PC that caused the mouse

When the replacement and installment of Ubuntu 9.10 was done, the
problem recurred!! When I booted PC up straight from the Live CD,
....no problem. What next step should I do? Should I take the PC to a
shop for diagnosis? Are the technicians familiar with Linux based OSs?
I am scratching my head!
