Edit >> Preferences >> Content<br>make sure "Load Images..." "Enable Java" and "Enable Javascipt" are tick marked.<br>Its possible your settings in firefox could be causing a problem.<br>

<br>You can download a "Deb" file of Google Chrome or Opera and try those sites out (just double click the Deb file to open a window which will help you install the Debian package with just another click).<br><br>
