This amd64 title is really stupid but the reason is because AMD
invented 64 bit and Intel copied it, so AMD64 means any system based
on the AMD standard, which includes all the intel chips.

I have been running 64 bit for years now and no problems at all for
about a year and before that the only problem was java and that media
viewer, both problems where fixed by running a 32 bit browser but now
you don't even have to do that. The key point is that if you MUST you
can also run 32 software under the 64 bit system provided you have all
the 32 bit libs that go with it. This can mean having the same lib 2
times (32 bit and 64 bit) in your system thus eating into your TB hard
drive and taking all that room you really need for something else.
(joke)

Short of it is, no problems at all, go for it.
