I am getting garbled screen with out of sync colored screen.<br>1)I have installed ubuntu Server 9.0.4 edition on my <span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1241928659_0">Dell Studio 15</span> laptop with dual boot(with <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1241928659_1">Windows Vista</span> 64 bit)<br>
2)It was working fine. Later i did apt-get ubuntu-desktop(not sure about the command-but it worked fine)<br>3)It was also working fine but it changed my <span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;" class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1241928659_2">boot screen</span>, now i directly go to GNome Desktop rather than the shell prompt for login.<br>
4)It
was working fine but i wanted to set up my graphics card which is ATI
Raedon 3400 -256 MB card. After that as and when i reboot-i get a
garbled screen with out of sync colors. Please go thru the screen
shot.The first screen is a snapshot when it reboots.<br>5) As i cannot enter anything-i tried "Ctrl+Alt+F7" to get terminal login. But i get the second screen.<br>I tried recovering using server install CD but no success.<br>
<br>Is the only way out is to reformat and re-install?<br><br>Can somebody provide me kernel parameters and how to enter at <span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1241928659_3">GRUB boot loader</span> so that i can go to the shell prompt and do the needfull<br>
<br>Any help is highly appreciated.<br><br><br>But when i tried booting with the ubuntu desktop 9.0.4 CD it went inside without any problems.<br>And then i collected all the logs that i am sending with this email.<br><br>
