doesn't happen at boot time. It happens at login time. That is,
regardless of how late I will set the samba (I already tried S80) it is
always too early because the Network Manager (NM) starts networking
only at login.<br>

is either alter the samba startup script to run in the background and
check every some time if ifconfig was done or try to hook into NM
operation and see if I can make samba start from there. Guessing that
this usability issue effects other people as well, I am trying to
figure out if Ubuntu people have an official concept to handle this
conflict.</font></span><br>

Here is the thing. When my laptop boots network is not yet configured
since NM didn´t start it yet. Samba however tries to start since it is
in S20 on rc2-5.d but it fails immediately because no network is
configured yet. What is the official solution for such a conflict?<br>
