</div>eeek. In case you didn't realize, your whole graphical system is<br>
called Xorg. Xorg is the replacement for XFree86. It sounds like<br>
you tried to manually install an old XFree86 over your existing Xorg.<br>

I think you've made a real hash of things here. IMHO, your easiest<br>
solution maybe to back up your home folder and any other config files<br>
you know you need and reinstall.... I don't know anything about<br>
COMSOL, but most things that say you need XFree86 will work fine with<br>
Xorg. If it doesn't, then you'll need quite good hacking skills to<br>
run XFree86 instead of Xorg.<br>
