On thing that I noticed after upgrading to 8.04, is that NO hard drives at all shows up on the desktop, and it doesn't seem to matter whether they are NTFS or not, but I can reach everything from "Places", Nautilus, the terminal etc. Actually I was very happy that they didn't show up on the desktop, because I wasn't able to remove them from there with the previous versions of Ubuntu, but I guess this is a matter of taste. What I really want is for them to be available on startup so that the desktop background picture, which is stored on a shared NTFS partition, will appear, and Thunderbird will open with the shared profile on another NTFS partiton.
