Microsoft is hoping to get as much Free Software as possible dependent on this .NET Mono. Then, once enough FOSS is dependent on it (gee thanks Miguel), Microsoft goes a-suing for, at a minimum, "patent infringement." Maybe even copyright infringement too, if actual MS code "somehow" makes its way into Mono. Mono, like Sliver-blight (spelling intentional), is a trap. I simply refuse to use software that has actual dependencies on Mono, just like I refuse to use Microsoft Windows or MS Office. You're free to forego your freedom if you want.
