DVD-Audio is a different format from CD Audio. Its capable of much
higher quality and will not play in a CD player, and really won't play
in most DVD players (unless the disc has also been encoded in DVD-Video
format with audio only, or the player specifically supports DVD-Audio).
Some good background of the DVD-Audio spec can be found on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Audio

I don't know if any of the ubuntu burning tools natively support DVD-Audio, but there is an open souce DVD-Audio project here: http://dvd-audio.sourceforge.net/
I know how to make a audio cd...
but, how does one make a dvd-audio disk that plays, like a audio cd?
if that's even possible.
