Any help?

Perhaps you just need to set up network shares for the
folders/directories? You can use NFS, but since I recall that you also
have Windows machines connected I'd recommend that you set up via Samba.
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://help.ubuntu.com/community/">https://help.ubuntu.com/community/</a>
Search: samba
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ComprehensiveSambaGuide">https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ComprehensiveSambaGuide</a>
Basically you can initially just try the simple method:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://help.ubuntu.com/7.10/internet/C/networking-shares.html">https://help.ubuntu.com/7.10/internet/C/networking-shares.html</a>
