When the same hardware is booted to XP it works. If this is the case..... Doing some research shows that 2Wire has drivers built for Windows an Mac/OS but has not built similar drivers (modules) for Linux. It has been suggested that the Windows driver can be used in conjunction with NDISwrapper. However, I could not find anyone that had an entirely successful experience and a configuration you could follow. So, if I have described correctly what you are trying to do your efforts may turn out to be futile. </pre> </blockquote> If I were not sending this to you using Ubuntu 7.10 and the 2Wire 1000SW at this very moment I would be inclined to believe you. Adding to the disbelief situation is the fact that when I tested the system from the Live CD, everthing tested Go. The computer I'm using right now is connected via Cat5e and a NIC but the Live CD was tested from the machine that I am now having the problem with and I did not change any wiring from the test until now. Add, one more item that makes your advice unpalatable. This unit here is on the Ubuntu and is connected directly to the modem and it is running like Windows wishes it could. There are just to many successful Ubuntu and Kubuntu tests that worked perfectly on different 2Wire modems. I don't mean to sound brash but I have had nothing but sucess after sucess on other peoples units as well as my own that were running the 2Wire modem/router to accept that this problem is wide spread. </body> </html>
