I removed the broken or uncompleted DVD and used mine and another with the 7.10 desktop. None work on the computer. I am sure that the 6.10 and 7.10 ubuntu dvd that I tried works because they work on other computers. So I have no idea how to reinstall. I tried ssh but there is no route to host, certainly because the half-burned dvd deleted it. Right now I am stuck with the message and no way to make the computer accept any DVD which are usually working.

It sounds as though you could remove the dvd and reboot, then start the
burn process again (unless you're burning on a dvd-rw, in which case you
could erase the dvd and start again).

Or, are you saying that there was enough burned onto the disc that you
