it does try to boot but gets an error. Let me find some more info from the screen: For xubuntu live cd, the kernel loads, the logo appears on the screen, then the following is written: BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian ...) Build-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. (initramfs) _ The program is waiting at a prompt. The boot cd had been tested for problems. If this is the case maybe the cd is the prob. Or maybe the bios isnt set to boot from the cd drive? On some systems where the live cd wont boot the alternate cd works to install ubuntu.
