<br>Complete Removal". Once you've done that, then reinstall.</blockquote><div><br>Ok, ran -f install. No problems found. Suggested some packages that could removed as no longer required, so I removed them with autoremove. Purged pidgin, re-booted, installed pidgin, same symptoms. Buddy list window opens then closes. I thought maybe there were some old files from the gaim installation, so I purgeed gaim, not installed. There were some more autoremove files which I also ran again.
