Thanks for the replies, but that isn't the solution, I have already<br>set the local login colour to black. This is a Gnome issue, the brown<br>shows up once X kicks in, as your desktop gets loaded. Your own<br>desktop colour choice ios the last thing to get loaded, before that
<br>it's light brown.<br><br>Any other ideas?</blockquote><div><br>You may change the login window face to a customized window by changing the style property on <span style="font-style: italic;">Local</span> tab (System->Administration->Login Window) to plain (or plain with face browser, if you like it).
<br>Doing it, you'll be able to choose a picture to be loaded before enter the username and password, and you will also be able to change the Ubuntu Logo showed on the login window. I did it here, and it looks much better.
