From my experience , I installed Gutsy Gibbon in 3 different boxes range from the top laptop thinkpad T61p and the relative old single CPU PIV2.8G. The Trackered make all of them freeze! I don't know who decide to make the desktop search tool as the default option. I don't think it's a good idea. I've used trackerd and google desktop search. Both of them suck for desktop users. So if you think the Gutsy Gibbon is slow, try to "sudo apt-get remove tracker". It will be much better. -- -- Yueyu Lin
