Richard: The Mac OSX runs on top of Linux, so just pull up a text window same as in Ubuntu and you're in Linux. It's a customized Linux, so some things are a bit different but I used a Macbook Pro to manage a cluster of Ubuntu servers with no problems. Actually you can have it all with a Mac - it even runs Windows if you want, all without having to reboot to change OSes. I don't want to migrate to OSX because I run all my servers on Linux and by using it daily I learn a lot about the OS, and I have become addicted to the Opens source way of helping and getting helped. I'm not really worried about the financial cost of a bundeled Mac OSX, but am looking for a way to show Apple that the fact that they bundle OSX on all their hardware is no better than the way MS get Windows preloaded on all consumer PCs. I'll start by sending this question to their customer service and see what they say...
