I had a less than successful attempt to upgrade dapper-edgy-feisty, so started again by reinstalling dapper from a shipit disk. Fortunately /home is on a separate partition.<BR>
<BR>
All went well. After installation I deleted /home and changed /etc/fstab to read:<BR>
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.<BR>
#<BR>
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass><BR>
<BR>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0<BR>
/dev/hda2 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1<BR>
/dev/hdb7 /home ext3 defaults 0 2<BR>
/dev/hda1 /media/hda1 vfat defaults,utf8,umask=007,gid=46 0 1<BR>
/dev/hdb1 /media/hdb1 vfat defaults,utf8,umask=007,gid=46 0 1<BR>
/dev/hdb5 /media/hdb5 ext2 defaults 0 2<BR>
/dev/hdb6 /media/hdb6 ext3 defaults 0 2<BR>
/dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0<BR>
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0<BR>
<BR>
BUT on reboot, Dapper does not recognise /home.<BR>
I've obviously done something wrong - but what?<BR>
<BR>
TIA<BR>
