(I did not know how to do it hence I installed</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">another tiny Linux Distribution so that it could install the GRUB for me)</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr"> </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr"><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">The famous smallest one is DamnSmallLinux (DSL). </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr"> </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">1. First copy the menu.lst from the ubuntu's boot folder and keep it.</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">2. Create a 55MB ext2 partition on the HDD. </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">3. Note down where your XP and ubuntu are residing. (hda1, hda2 in my case)</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">4. Install the DSL on the new partition (hda3 in my case)</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">5. When asked during installation allow to install the GRUB in MBR </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">and it will also ask where is your M$ XP. Provide the partition.</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">6. Re-Boot the computer in DSL and replace the menu.lst in the boot folder</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">(as you already have the chainloader commands into the ubuntu's menu.lst </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">else copy the relevant lines to the new menu.lst)</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr"> </DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">It was successful and I since then use DSL to repair GRUB if there is any problem</DIV><DIV style="DIRECTION: ltr">while installting.
