Hi Guys,
This afternoon I had to turn off my Ubuntu 6.10 Server, all went well
and normal but since booting the machine backup I am unable to see
anything on my network and I am unable to connect to any of the services
(ssh, samba, squid or apache) from any of the other machines on the network.

I gave up using static setups after breaking my machine multiple times
trying to figure out why and to stop resolv.conf from being erased at

Thanks for the suggestions Jeffrey and William.

I downloaded Knoppix earlier this morning and gave it a try to no avail
either using static or DHCP, I'm beginning to think it's perhaps the
nic itself, stranger things have happened.

I'm going to put in another nic now and see what happens as I'm at a
loss as to what happens.

I'll report back shortly.
