Ok, I don't know whats happened but within the past couple of weeks something must have been upgraded, but now everytime I play an xvid video I get an error in mplayer saying that I dont have an xvid codec installed yet the video will play in a window but I can't control it from the mplayer controls etc. and the framrate is garbage any ideas?
