installed on a "newer" machine. Wow, it great too. previously I had it installed
on a older pieced together machine from parts laying around the

this new found speed my wife ask me if we could see a move on the machine.
Of course I would never have attempted this before since the dang
machine was just good enough to check email and do some surfing.

DVD (store bought, legal, please don't send me no letters <FONT
face="Times New Roman">RIAA.)</FONT></FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2>Anyway, I pop in the dvd and
pull up Totem.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2></FONT></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2>When I try to load the dvd it
states:</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2></FONT></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2>"Totem was not able to play
this disk"</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2>"Please check that a disk is
present in the drive" -> with an ok button at the
bottom.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2></FONT></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2></FONT></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=031175518-17082006><FONT size=2>If I put the same dvd in my
(office machine, not purchased by me) windows 2000 lap top it plays no problem.

my Ubuntu can't handle DVD's?</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
