<p><span class=rvts6>I am VERY new to Linux and need an explanation of how to set the resolution of my iBook (g3, 14.1" screen, ATI video). I have installed from both the "official" CD as well as the alternate and always have the same problem - the resolution can only be set to 640 x 480. I know the screen does at least 1024 x 768 and I'd like to be able to set it. If I use the GUI (system > prefs > screen res.) to set the resolution, the only choice is 640x480. </span></p>

<p><span class=rvts6>The main hassle is not so much the low res, but the that many dialog boxes are not fully displayed and being new to this, I have no idea what the options are. I cannot even do any updates because there are choices that aren't visible and I get caught in a loop, coming back to the main screen all the time.</span></p>
