Could someone please give me the apt-get command to install the latest
gphoto2 from unstable? If I don't have the repository in my sources
list (trying to keep it pure breezy right now), do I have to point to
the repository with the command?

I am guessing that you need a newer version than is in the Ubuntu universe repository (2.1.6-2.1).

If you need to stay on the bleeding edge with the latest versions as they come out, you should add a new repository to your list for just this purpose. Pinning can be used so that you only get gphoto stuff from that repository.
