My opinion if your system stable and working fine just update security issues and for the laptop ubuntu 6.06 very very good for it, by the way in the new version you can pay for ubuntu team to give you support this is good for your production server. (With 5.04 I found a version of kaffeine which would work on <a href="http://kde.org">kde.org</a>, but with 5.06 I had to resort to mplayer.)
