Does anyone has a clue about why is it that ubuntu stalls whenever I
try to blank a cd-rw? Yesterday I did it for the very first time with
ubuntu and it simply stalled... it did not freeze, for when it finished
everything went back to normal. I have experienced the same behaviour
in the end of the process of burning a cd (fixating part). I checked
dmesg etc and everything was pretty normal... it seems that burning a
cd used the whole of my databus and nothing else was allowed to run.
Actually, gnome simply stalled. I could move the mouse and see the
cursor moving normally, however, no window would open...
I have used debian for a very long time and never experienced anything
like that. It is true that I never had used an amd64 processor, which
is in my computer now, but it really puzzled me and I'm quite clueless
about where to start looking for an answer.
