Hi All,

I have a bunch of old VHS tapes I want to digitize so I can burn them to CDs.

I am running Ubuntu 5.10. I have a BT878 chipset TV card (A.K.A. AverMedia) and a PAL VCR.

Most of them are les than 60 min. long, but I have some longer ones (240 min.)

I also have a CD-R drive (naturaly).

What would be the best way to do this?

I tried to do it in the past using MPlayer's Mencoder, but I had two major problems:

I couldn't get it to encode to OGG/Vorbis (only MP3 worked 'out of the box') and I couldn't make the Video and Audio sync.

Can someone recomend a GUI tool?

Maybe point me to a HOWTO ?

Thanks !

--
:====================================================:.

Amichai Rotman

UIN#: 6401746
