This is stranger and stranger. I turn on my laptop this morning, and
suddenly I'm hit with the kubuntu logo and blue text again (last time
was on my desktop).
Once again, I've *not* installed any packages, *nothing* has changed. It
seems that if I keep hibernating it, it will continue to show `kubuntu'
on boot, until I next shut it down. So far, my desktop hasn't ever
displayed the `kubuntu' logo except for the once (as above).
I am beginning to think this isn't an isolated instance.

I had this experience too. My PC is running on Ubuntu 5.10 since a
couple of months and suddenly I got the splash of "xubuntu" with its
mouse and everything so I got also suprice since I did not installed
nothing new in the las days. Although I run the apt-get update.

How could i get again my boot splash of ubuntu?

Anyway, I don't mind since the machine is working quite well and everything
works.

All the best,
