I installed edubuntu and my 7 year old really likes it and uses it spontaneously. What was important for my older son was when he was about 8 we got a programme called the games factory (windows) which enabled him to design games - being the active developer of games was very good on a number of levels - I will need to find a linux version. Little Wizard is a programming tool for kids I will look at it over Christmas - does anybody else know any others? <div>On 21/12/05, Phillip Sc. Use an other device. There are a playstation2 using Linux from Sony - they should be fine. Anyway there are som quality edutainment applications for 7-10 years kids: gcompris and childsplay, tuxmath,tuxtype and tuxpaint. Beside some outdated in their graphic I have found: scrabble, xdigger that do work with Ubuntu. I've had BIG problems with supertux and planetpenguin-racer (ppracer) that have made my desktop collaps and al got really slooovly. I have to try to restore the whole system just now.
