I've never used sudo, or a Debian based distribution before. And at
first sudo really offended me as jumping through unnecessary
hoops. But after reading the reasons for it, I have changed my
mind. I think it is a great idea that I'm sure I can get used
to. But last night I learned that even sudo won't keep you from
screwing up your system. I trashed my X-windows installation, and
now I'm stuck with a big problem because my Linux education isn't
serving me as well as I thought it would. Three cheers for sudo,
but in my view, Linux is still not ready for the desktop. I can't
even get a 1024x768 display going without spending several days trying
to figure out how to do it. Would some other distribution make
setting up my nVidia driver and getting a 1024x768 display
easier? Somehow I doubt it. --JWR<br>
