I had the same problem as the original poster.  <br>

I uninstalled everything with "mozilla" in it using Synaptec GUI.  It
takes out some extra stuff.  Reinstalling "mozilla-firefox"  (not
"firefox") got things working for me.  I guess I'll reinstall other things when/if I need them.<br>
