I'm pretty tired of the work I've done my Dell Latitude X1 and never got around to looking into the scanner. I'd just as soon plug the LiDE into my wife's X1 with MS XP, on which I installed the Canon (are they still called Twain?) drivers. Scanner works right out of the box at all tested resolutions. The highest I have tried was 400dpi (creates very large files!) and I normally use 100dpi. My system is an AMD Athlon 3000, 1Gb memory and a 20" LCD display (Princeton). Perhaps your "wavy" lines are caused by exceeding your Monitor resolution? Harry Wert Physicist </body> </html>
